Diversity and inclusion are values we believe in at Intent HQ, so we were thrilled to be recognized for our efforts with a Best Tech Employer and Best In-House Recruiter award shortlisting from Women in Tech. Intent are finalists in the category which recognizes employers with 50-249 employees who have demonstrated an outstanding effort over the past 18 months to attract and retain women in their IT and technology teams.
How We Did It
Our commitment to improving diversity is evident in our hiring practices.
We actively search for female hires at all levels, ensuring a strong pipeline of talent. By removing names and other identifying details from applications, we strive to eliminate unconscious bias. Our job adverts are carefully crafted to be free from gender-biased language.
We ensure that our interview panels are diverse to prevent any disadvantages to female applicants. We previously partnered with and sponsored Women in Tech, supporting their initiatives to advance women in technology.
We have had the pleasure of welcoming back two female leavers into more senior roles, emphasizing our commitment to career growth and development. These efforts have produced substantial results. In the past few years, we have observed a significant increase in female hires.
Empowering Women in Leadership
Intent HQ believes in leadership that reflects our values. We have successfully hired women into key leadership and management roles, including our first General Counsel, ensuring balanced representation at the senior leadership level; Director of Growth, enhancing our capabilities in Client Success; Principal Sales Executive, making our US Sales team predominantly female; and Senior Product Manager and Technical Client Success Manager, reinforcing our commitment to diversity.
Attracting and Retaining More Women
Hiring great talent is just the beginning. We are equally focused on retaining and supporting our female employees.
We have reviewed and extended our flexible family leave policies, ensuring 100% of our maternity leavers return to Intent HQ. We offer extended maternity benefits, including sabbaticals, for women who want more time with their children.
Our revised pay review policy captures new joiners early on, helping close the gender pay gap. We promote mental health awareness and support initiatives around menopause. Our relaunched mentoring scheme supports ongoing personal and professional growth.
We create opportunities for women to explore different roles within the company, leading to permanent promotions. Our female Talent Manager has been instrumental in supporting the onboarding of our Israel-based acquisition, where female representation is lower.
Commitment to Gender Pay Equality
Intent HQ takes the gender pay gap seriously. We bench new roles against live market data, not candidates' existing salaries, ensuring fair and equitable pay for all employees.
Building a Supportive and Fair Workplace
We are proud that 80% of our employees agree that we are making progress on fairness, diversity, and inclusion, with 98% saying they feel treated fairly and with respect.
Laura Wilkinson Shortlisted for Best In-House Recruiter
We are also proud to have our Talent Acquisition Manager, Laura Wilkinson, shortlisted for the Best In-House Recruiter award. Laura has not only aligned our talent search with the values of Intent HQ but has also optimized our selection processes, reduced costs, and supported women's professional growth.
Laura has led the implementation of direct hiring strategies that focus on inclusion and pay equity. She has also launched a webinar in collaboration with Women in Tech to emphasize the importance of hiring women into tech roles.
Laura promotes the growth of our current female employees, ensuring they have opportunities to advance within the company. She is dedicated to mentoring women returning to work after maternity leave or cancer treatment, demonstrating her commitment to a workplace that values flexibility and balance.
Committed to a Future of Inclusivity and Innovation
Being shortlisted for the Best Tech Employer award is a testament to our ongoing journey towards building a workplace where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive. We remain committed to creating meaningful, lasting change within the tech industry. The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 12 in London.
